new pic!
i posted a new pic onto my old album (look under my name “dinah”)- this was taken several months ago at the shop where i was holding annabelle, my yorkie, and listening to a celtic group who had come into my shop, pushed everything out of the way, sat on the floor, and played for [...]

I am the weird one…(radiation criteria)
So I fit in the middle of all of this 3 positive node, a mass at 5×3 cm and a 1cm invasive area on my chest muscle..peachy.
Ommpa Loompa orange again
Well I had my chemo port put in the morning and all I can say is OUCH.
Seriously- why can’t some people take the time to clean me up? After the mastectomy they did

Hi Barb,
I am just at the beginning of my journey and I have pondered over what it might feel like at the end of treatment. So far people are so compassionate and going out of their way to help, but I can imagine that fades over time. And I have a feeling I’m [...]

Hi Barb, I feel exactly like you do.Every little pain you have you think is cancer. I have been finished with chemo since Mar and just had reconstruction on both breast and I still feel that way. Take care, Sharon P
Is radiation needed or not….
I think the reason with the margins is that a close (or small) margin means some cancer is near the edge of the excised tissue, so could still be on the other side of the cut, still in the breast. That is what happened with me with DCIS, and a big reason I agreed [...]

Battle of the Docs
Yes, I agree. So I am trying to figure out what I want. I did have somewhere between 70 and 80 percent hormone-driven cancer. So I am sure my onc will not agree with the progesterone shot.

Dinah: Welcome back. Thought about you lots of times.
I have been on aromasin for about two years. I have noticed cold intolerance. But I didn’t relate it to the aromasin. The side effects at least for me are a lot less than with the arimidex and the femara. I would [...]
Battle of the Docs
Jeanine: I think YOU should be the winner in this. I don’t remember if your tumor was fueled by pregesterone/estrogen or not. That would be my biggest concern with the doc who wants you to have a period. Ultimately as most of us have learned, it is what we want that really [...]

Urban Legends and TruthorFiction.com are also good websites to check out. Snopes.com is run by a husband and wife. I read an article by the husband that he himself started a false rumor once to see to the extent it went. Never trusted that site after that.

Is radiation needed or not….
I do not know, this is all so confusing….. we still see or meet people with lumpectomy who do not get chemo nor radiation…. The standards and treatments seem to change all the time. That’s what makes it so scary….. if everybody everywhere got the same treatment, it would be more reassuring… Gin
